Allison's Story
A letter from her friends
Allison was a light in every life that she encountered. She was a daughter, sister, best friend, animal-lover, cat mom, dancer, brilliant student, and so much more. Allison was witty and could crack a joke at the perfect moment. She loved reality TV shows and true crime. People found her shy when they first met her, but as soon as you got to know her, you would learn what a dynamic and fun person she was. She spent countless hours volunteering in her community and supporting those in need.
Despite her positive actions and kindness towards others, Allison’s life was difficult. She struggled with Anorexia and various mental health challenges throughout high school and college. She had an incredible support system through her wonderful family and friends, including her two sisters, Jessica and Lisi. On May 2, 2023, as she was finishing her first year of graduate school at Florida State University, Allison lost her battle and took her own life.
In your 20s, it’s impossible to wrap your mind around the idea of losing a best friend. We have all struggled in different ways, trying to make sense of a situation that feels so surreal. It feels like just yesterday, we were sitting at the middle school lunch table with Allison, trying out for the competition dance team together, baking cakes, and binge-watching Pretty Little Liars. For the rest of our lives, there will always been a missing piece to our little group of friends.
None of Allison’s friends will ever forget the beautiful impact Allison had on our lives. Even so, we want to share her legacy with the community. We want to honor her memory by carrying on where she left off, helping others. Given Allison’s strong dedication to her academics, we couldn’t think of anything more fitting than a memorial scholarship.
We love you and we miss you so much, Allison.
